About Us

Both of us called central Ohio home for more than a decade, and lived within an hour of our families.  In October of 2015, we got the chance of a lifetime - a relocation to Anchorage, Alaska.  Since that day, we've never looked back.

One of the most amazing things about living here is the abundance of scenery and melting pot of cultures.  For a self-confessed foodie and photographer, it is heaven.  Everywhere you turn there's a gorgeous view or a new restaurant to try.

Whether you're just vacationing up here, planning to move, or are "Alaska Grown", I hope this site gives you a sample of what we experience.  Please explore and take in what it's like to be a transplant who's still learning the ways of Alaska.  Join us on our adventures (and a few misadventures) and get answers to questions you never knew you had!

All photos and background pictures on this blog are my own, using either an iPhone 8 or my trusty Canon SX530.  I have no fancy editing software, so everything you see truly exists - including the intense blues and greens of the water.   All restaurant recommendations are my opinion and I am not reimbursed in any way for them.
