A piece of history

Yesterday, our neighbor Verne took us out to the crash site of a KB-29 tanker plane on Bald Mt. The plane and crew of 8 went down on Dec 26, 1956. While the destination is somewhat somber, the ride there is unbelievable. Every type of terrain is crossed, and even in late July you can still see snow. Once you reach the crash site, you will find small walking trails leading in and out of the remaining pieces. Caution: do not attempt this trail if you are a novice rider. Though some websites call it "moderate", there are extremely steep hills than can be very dangerous, as well as mud bogs you can get stuck in. Always travel with a group that has experienced riders!
